17.- Landrenters are responsible that their employes

observe the traffic regulations.

18.-The police have instructions to guide strangers

and occasional visitors as to the observance of the rules

of the road and generally to see that these are carried

out.

19. -The seats on the bund are supplied for the use and

recreation of the landrenters and are not public. Sleep-

ing on the seats at night is in no case permitted.

20.-Lamps on bicycles are to be used after sundown and

bivvies are not to be ridden to the public danger.

21.-All chairs whether occupied or otherwise must carry

a lighted lamp after sundown. Chair-ccolies when waiting

for their employers must not obstruct the footpaths.

22.-These Regulations shall be exhibited at the bridges

and the principal landing steps.

23. In addition to the above, certain other regulations

are being drafted and will be promulgated in due course.

SHAMEEN POLICE PERMIT REGULATIONS.

1. The following special police permit regulations

are notified for information and cancel former regula-

tions.

2. After gates are closed entrance by gates or by

landing steps is prohibited except to those in possession

of passes.

3.- Passes are of two kinds: "Individual" (red) and

"Collective (Blue) and will be valid only with a Municipal Council stamp.
